Half of the inspiration for The Soup Kitchen was that one restaurant in Chicago Illinois where the staff actually insult you as a part of the experience (they're quite popular!) and the Soup place on Seinfeld (not a fan of the nickaname they gave the owner). The shop owner here is a bit strict with her rules but the tasty soup has people coming back for more regardless!
