Controversial opinion, but I actually really hate the auction rule.
Auctions make up about 30-50% of the game when you use the rule, and they are painful to conduct. So the game becomes a slog instead of fun dice rolling.

Of course Lots of games I play are over-complicated messes (in the good way) so maybe I should re-evaluate, but I've played with auctions and my experience at the time was worse not better.

Hey I totes understand that. Hell I avoid the auction rule when I play with others too. That being said, I can also see how that totally gets Jamie's creative juices flowing XD
